Abstract

With rising concerns about theft in urban areas, there is a pressing need for advanced and dependable security solutions. This paper introduces a smart home security system with integrated motion detection and facial recognition, designed to improve urban safety through real-time monitoring and alert systems. Despite the deployment of various security systems, theft remains a significant issue, resulting in financial and emotional distress. This paper proposes passive infrared (PIR) sensors and advanced facial recognition technology to detect and identify potential intruders. The implementation focuses on creating a user-friendly, scalable solution that minimizes energy consumption and ensures real-time monitoring. The paper underscores the importance of integrating IoT and facial recognition technologies to develop a sustainable, ethical, and effective theft detection system. The paper concludes with insights into the development process, challenges faced, and future opportunities for system enhancement to further bolster urban security.
