Efficient Energy Monitoring in Home Appliances Using IoT

As our homes use more and more energy, finding ways to optimize this consumption has become crucial for both saving money and protecting the environment. IoT-based Smart Energy Management Systems (SEMS) offer an innovative solution by bringing together advanced sensor technologies, data analytics, and machine learning algorithms to monitor and manage energy use efficiently. This paper introduces a comprehensive framework for SEMS, designed to tackle the issue of energy inefficiency in households. By employing components like the ESP32 microcontroller, current transformers (CT), voltage sensors, optical sensors, and temperature sensors, the system can collect and process data in real-time. Machine learning models then analyse this data to predict energy usage patterns and provide personalized tips for saving energy. With an easy-to- use interface available on mobile and web platforms, users can easily access their energy consumption data, make informed decisions, and actively manage their energy use. By promoting sustainability, lowering costs, and encouraging user involvement in energy conservation, SEMS pave the way for smarter, more efficient homes.
