Reliable Communication in VANET Environment Through Mobility Aware Clustering and Multi Hop Routing
This research introduces a novel communication approach for Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs) utilizing clustering and routing techniques to enhance routing reliability. The proposed protocol considers a fleet of vehicles equipped with GPS devices, enabling the collection of crucial vehicle details such as speed, direction, and position. Initially, vehicles are grouped into clusters using the Mobility-aware LEACH technique, leveraging vehicle speed to ensure cluster stability and mitigate sudden Cluster Head (CH) changes and cluster reformation issues. Cluster-based routing is employed to improve communication efficiency by reducing the burden on vehicles and Road Side Units (RSUs). The gathered information within clusters is aggregated by CHs and routed to RSUs using the Adaptive Osprey Optimization based Routing (AdO_Route) algorithm. This algorithm incorporates multiple factors including node distance, residual energy, relative speed, and link stability, thereby optimizing communication efficiency in VANETs.
