Equivalent Reduced-Order Modeling of Small Wind Farms for Small-Signal Stability Assessment
The existing single-machine equivalent models of wind farms face challenges in terms of insufficient equivalent accuracy and low computational efficiency in small-signal stability analysis of gird-connected wind farms. Therefore, this paper first establishes a full-order linearized state-space model for wind turbines. Then, considering that the wind turbines in a small-scale wind farm have the same model type and similar operating conditions, it is assumed that the linearized state-space models of the individual wind turbines are identical. Subsequently, matrix similarity transformation is introduced, and the reduced-order equivalent model for a small-scale wind farm is derived from the full-order model. Finally, simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed equivalent model.
