Realization of ZVS for Asymmetric Boost Half-bridge DC-DC Converter

Conventional DC-DC converters encounter inefficiency and high device stress at high voltage gains. To overcome these challenges, an asymmetrically isolated boost half-bridge (BHB) DC-DC converter is proposed. An inductor is connected in series at the front end of the transformer to supplement the resonance energy, which ensures the realization of the main power switching ZVS in the full input range, reduces the device loss and voltage stress, and improves the efficiency and reliability. The experimental results show that the measured efficiency is consistent with the theoretical design at a switching frequency of 50kHz, an output voltage of 100V and a power range of 100W~250W. The design demonstrates the potential to increase the switching frequency, which is expected to further advance the miniaturization of the converter and improve the power density.
