A Frequency Demand-Oriented Power Coordinated Control Method of DFIG-Based Wind Farm
Insufficient power control capability of wind farms brings new challenges to the system frequency safety. Therefore, a power coordinated control method for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind farm that utilizes the transient energy stored in the rotor of DFIG during the grid fault to provide power support for the power system is proposed. The fault characteristics of DFIG-based wind farm under the grid fault are analyzed, and the power shortage at the moment of fault removal is calculated based on the improved system frequency response model, then the setting method of the power control value of DFIG-based wind farm is further proposed. The case studies show that the proposed method can effectively improve the system frequency characteristics by utilizing the transient energy during the grid fault.
