Detection and Isolation of Broken Strands in Power Transmission Line
This paper presents a system for detecting and isolating broken strands in power transmission lines. The proposed method utilizes a combination of current and vibration sensors to identify faults. Sensor data is processed using an Arduino Mega 2560, which triggers a relay to isolate the faulted section of the transmission line, preventing further damage and ensuring system safety. The system demonstrates high accuracy in detecting strand breakage through simulated testing. The use of current and vibration sensors ensures precise fault detection, while the integration with a relay system automates the isolation process. This approach reduces downtime and enhances the reliability of power transmission networks. This research underscores the importance of integrating sensor-based technologies to improve the safety and efficiency of power systems. By automating the detection and isolation of faults, this project contributes to minimizing power disruptions and maintaining grid stability.
