Water Quality Monitoring System Using Maps

At present, water scarcity presents a significant challenge, compounded by concerns over its declining quality. Contaminated water poses serious threats to both human health and ecological balance. To combat these issues, innovative strategies for monitoring and managing water quality are imperative. This initiative introduces a comprehensive, technology-driven solution aimed at enhancing the efficacy of water quality surveillance and intervention efforts. Leveraging IoT technology, the project utilizes sensors to evaluate key water quality parameters such as Total Dissolved Solids, Turbidity, and pH. Deviations from established standards trigger alert notifications, delivered via SMS through GSM to users and neighbouring communities. Furthermore, upon detection of abnormalities, water supply from the source is temporarily halted to prevent further contamination. Notably, sensor data is stored in a database for future analysis, aiding in the development of targeted treatment methods. Additionally, the system utilizes geospatial mapping, plotting contaminated areas on Google Maps for easy visualization by users and governmental agencies. This initiative offers a holistic approach to water quality challenges by integrating real-time data collection, geospatial analysis, proactive alerts, and automated supply regulation. It also paves the way for long-term improvements in water resource management beyond immediate health issues.
