Decentralized Real-Time Communication: WebRTC and WebSockets for Peer-to-Peer File Sharing
Real-time communications need file transmission, but conventional techniques frequently rely on centralised servers, raising possible privacy and performance issues. In order to solve these problems, this study suggests a decentralised method that makes use of WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) inside the same network. In the conventional paradigm, data is momentarily stored on a relay server, which facilitates file transfers between a client and recipient. However, there may be privacy hazards associated with this strategy as it uses third-party software. The suggested decentralised method does away with the requirement for a centralised server by using WebRTC to create peer-to-peer connections directly amongst clients on the same network. With no need for intermediate processing or storage, this method facilitates direct peer-to-peer communication, therefore increasing efficiency, decreasing latency, and enhancing privacy.
