IoT and AI-Enabled Smart Contact Lenses for Proactive Glaucoma Management

A novel approach for early identification and ongoing monitoring is urgently needed to prevent vision loss caused by glaucoma, a major worldwide health concern. This paper provides smart contact lenses, including the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI), for the active treatment of glaucoma. These spectacles use IoT protocols to transmit data seamlessly and include small sensors to measure real-time intraocular pressure (IOP). To intervene promptly, AI algorithms examine the collected data for small changes that may indicate the advancement of glaucoma. N on-invasiveness, continual monitoring, and individualized treatment are just a few benefits of this proactive monitoring system. Timely treatment modifications are made possible by the early warnings it provides to patients and healthcare providers, which can avert irreparable deterioration of eyesight. An exciting new direction in glaucoma treatment is the development of smart contact lenses that combine IoT technology with AI, providing a simple and effective way to track the disease's development. These smart lenses' creation, operation, and prospective influence on the state of the art in clinical practice and the results achieved by patients.
