From the Editor
This issue features three articles, the first of which is Lachance, Ranninger, and Hoek's article titled “Apparent Charge Measurements According to IEC 60270. How Is It Done?” It provides a comprehensive explanation of apparent charge measurement in partial discharge (PD) testing in accordance with IEC 60270. The article outlines the theoretical basis of PD, the challenges of accurate charge quantification, and the practical implications of quasi-integration and calibration. It also discusses the influence of test object size and distributed impedance on measurement accuracy. This detailed study may be of significant interest to engineers working in high-voltage insulation diagnostics and condition monitoring of electrical assets.
