Polarimetric Measurement Methods for Mechanical Rotation Polarimetric Radar System in Multiple‐Target Scenarios
Polarimetric measurement is a crucial technology in polarimetric signal processing. To tackle the high cost issue of conventional polarimetric measurement schemes, a novel scheme, namely, mechanical rotation polarimetric radar (MRPR) has been proposed. This scheme aims to provide a costeffective solution for polarimetric measurement. However, a significant challenge in MRPR is the fake-peak, a phenomenon caused by the Doppler-polarimetric coupling, which can negatively impact the polarimetric measurement of MRPR and potentially induce peak overlap in multiple-target scenarios. To enhance the applicability of MRPR in multiple-target scenarios, three distinct polarimetric measurement methods are proposed. The first method is designed for scenarios where the targets can be distinguished in the time domain. The second method addresses scenarios that are free from peak overlap. The third method is designed to handle scenarios where peak overlap exists. To validate the effectiveness of these proposed methods, comprehensive simulation experiments are conducted. These experiments provide empirical evidence of the enhanced performance and reliability of the proposed MRPR methods in diverse scenarios.
