Improving Digital Capacity of Tegaren’s Tourism Village Officials by Mini-series Seminars, Infrastructure, and Virtual Tour

Since 2021, Tegaren, as one of the leading tourism villages in Trenggalek, has also received several achievements, namely one of the winners of the Trenggalek Hundred Tourism Villages Award (Sadewa) in 2022 and consistently entered the top 500 of the Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) in 2022 and 2023. The series of achievements and accomplishments of Tegaren itself cannot be separated from the role of the BUMDes Sugih Arto institution led by Ismantoro and the Banyu Lumut Pokdarwis led by Gunawan. These two institutions continue to oversee the development of tourism in Tegaren. However, like the contour of villages in general in East Java Province, Tegaren faces several challenges ahead to make their tourism a success. The first problem is the aging demographic. The second problem is the capacity of Tegaren's human resources who are still not used to the digital village ecosystem and work mechanisms supported by information technology. This article will review the program to increase the capacity of digital literacy and the capability of the Tegaren community in implementing the concept of smart village and informational society. The implementation of the program is divided into three manifestations of activities, namely 1) strengthening the capacity and digital literacy of the Tegaren community which is in the form of a mini-series of digital literacy and good governance seminars, and 2) training in the use of Google Ecosystem/Suites for village officials and supporting organizations/institutions, and 3) creation of QRIS to support MSMEs and improvement of virtual tour technology in Tegaren. This program will run again in 2025 to continue the vision and commitment of the partnership that has been established between institutions.
