Association of Dynamic Thresholds of Systolic Blood Pressure Variability With Poor Outcomes in Conservative Management of Spontaneous Intracerebral Hemorrhage: A High-Frequency Monitoring Study
Introduction Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage as a pathology is characterized by high lethality and high mortality rates.Systolic blood pressure variability (SBPV) has been known to be associated with adverse outcomes in stroke patients but not yet established in ICH, especially in the conservative care setting. Objective The purpose of this study is to understand the impact of SBPV on clinical outcomes of patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage who were conservatively managed.Methodology One hundred consecutive patients with spontaneous ICH were followed up in terms of SBP over a 72 h period. The SBPV was divided into low, moderate, and high subsets using standard deviation.Death, surgical intervention, and mRS scores of the patients were evaluated; logistic regression analysis was performed for the results.
