DESAFIOS ENFRENTADOS POR PROFISSIONAIS DE ENFERMAGEM NO CUIDADO A PACIENTES COM TRANSTORNO DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

Objectives: To investigate the main challenges faced by nursing professionals in providing care to patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Methodology: This is a scoping review, prepared based on the PRISMA extension guidelines. The identification and selection of studies were carried out between January 2025 and March 2025 in the Lilacs, Medline, Bdenf, Ibecs and Pubmed databases. Results: The search included 197 articles, of which 14 met the inclusion criteria. The studies indicate that the main difficulty of nursing in providing care to children with ASD is the lack of preparation and training, in addition to challenges in understanding the disorder, shortage of professionals and specialized support, reinforcing the need for investments in team training. There is a weakness in academic training regarding preparation to deal with this population. Conclusion: Nursing care for children with ASD requires an individualized, welcoming approach adapted to their needs. The importance of including specific content on ASD in nursing training is highlighted, with an emphasis on simulated practices, aimed at early detection and effective action at all levels of care.
