Biobased dihydrolevoglucosenone (Cyrene) enables rapid and efficient synthesis of acylals under microwave irradiation

Acylals can be synthesised quickly under microwave irradiation using Cyrene as a sustainable solvent. The products can be purified by precipitation from water or by a solvent-sparing chromatography, as described in this study.
