IMPROVING THE PROCESS OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT IN PETROCHEMICAL PRODUCTION
The oil refining and petrochemical industry is one of the main consumers of water resources. The growth of production capacities and the depth of oil refining has also led to an increase in the volume of industrial effluents. All these processes are inextricably linked to the need to use a huge amount of treated water. The treatment of polluted industrial sulfide-alkaline effluents containing oil and petroleum products, as well as various mechanical impurities, is a primary task of the modern oil refining and petrochemical industries. Wastewater is produced in large quantities in oil fields during the extraction of hydrocarbons, as well as at enterprises of the oil and gas complex. At the moment, the treatment of sulfide-alkaline effluents is an urgent problem in environmental protection. Concentrations of heavy metal compounds, synthetic surfactants, petroleum products, various sulfur-containing compounds and other pollutants are increasing in the waters of open reservoirs and rivers, as a result of the discharge of insufficiently treated industrial and stormwater. The object of the study are wastewater from petrochemical production. Existing wastewater treatment methods require the modernization of wastewater treatment plants, which entails additional capital and operating costs. With this in mind, the most affordable alternative way to increase the efficiency of wastewater treatment according to general integral indicators is to optimize the technology of flocculation water treatment at existing wastewater treatment plants by using more effective reagents-flocculants. The paper presents the initial indicators of the quality of wastewater to be treated at the enterprise under consideration. The flocculant currently used is not sufficiently reactive, which leads to a decrease in the size and number of conglomerates of coagulated mechanical impurities. Since the size and number of conglomerates are small, the decanter cannot separate them into solid and liquid phases using centrifugal force. Based on the concentrations presented and the studies carried out, an optimal reagent for wastewater flocculation is proposed. Economic analysis has shown that when replacing the flocculant, there will be an increase in economic costs. This increase will be offset by the introduction of idle equipment.
