Management technology for effective communication in hemodialysis clinics

Abstract Objective To develop management technology for effective communication among nursing staff in hemodialysis clinics (TGCE-HD). Method This is a methodological study, following four stages: exploratory study with a qualitative approach; integrative review; validity by nephrology experts; and semantic assessment with the target audience. To assess the technology, 22 experts and 18 nursing professionals assessed the preliminary version, and for this purpose, the Content Validity Coefficient and binomial test were used. Results The content is divided into three parts: the first refers to the general guidelines for performing shift handover, present in domains 1 (human resources and environment organization) and 2 (nursing routines); the second is classified as domain 3, with patient information; the third presents domain 4, which prioritizes the care to be performed during the shift. The instrument was considered valid by experts with a tCVC of 0.93 and by the target audience with a tCVC of 0.95. Conclusion TGCE-HD represents a valid tool for handover of the nursing staff during clinical practice.

To assess the technology, 22 experts and 18 nursing professionals assessed the preliminary version, and for this purpose, the Content Validity Coefficient and binomial test were used. The instrument was considered valid by experts with a tCVC of 0.93 and by the target audience with a tCVC of 0.95. Conclusion TGCE-HD represents a valid tool for handover of the nursing staff during clinical practice.
