Occluded pulmonary vein following a novel compliant cryoballoon ablation despite proximal seal technique
Cryoballoon ablation (CBA) for pulmonary vein (PV) isolation is a widely accepted treatment for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF)1 and has a favorable safety profile. However, PV stenosis, a serious complication,2 has occurred in a few cases. Here we report the case of a patient with AF who developed PV occlusion with hemoptysis following catheter ablation for PV isolation using a novel compliant cryoballoon.
