Preface

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are pleased to present the proceedings of the International Symposium on Microelectronic Engineering and Design (isMED2024) held on December 2–3, 2024, at Royale Chulan Hotel, Penang. This symposium brought together researchers and industry experts to discuss advancements, challenges and innovations in microelectronics and semiconductor technology, under the theme “Smart Integration: Designing Microelectronics for a Connected World.” The program featured keynote and invited talks, technical sessions and an industrial visit, offering valuable insights and networking opportunities. This volume of the Journal of Physics Conference Series compiles selected papers that have undergone a rigorous peerreview process to ensure high-quality research contributions. The topics covered include Analog and RF Integrated Circuit Design, Digital Circuit Design, Fabrication and Characterization, Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS), Materials and Devices, Packaging and Testing, and System Design. Each paper presents novel ideas and findings that contribute to the advancement of microelectronics.
