Determinan Perilaku Konsumsi Tablet Tambah Darah Pada Remaja Putri Di Indonesia: Literature Review
Anemia in adolescent girls is a significant public health issue caused by low hemoglobin levels, which can affect quality of life and development. Adherence to iron supplementation through tablet intake (iron tablets) is a primary preventive effort, yet compliance remains low. This study aims to identify factors influencing iron tablet consumption behavior among adolescent girls through a narrative review of 20 scientific articles published between 2019 and 2024, sourced from Google Scholar and PubMed, focusing on risk factors and behavioral determinants. The analysis revealed that knowledge, attitudes, and support from peers, family, teachers, and healthcare workers are the main factors affecting iron tablet consumption behavior. Based on the Health Belief Model and Social Support Theory frameworks, these findings emphasize that improving individual understanding and strengthening social support are crucial determinants in influencing iron tablet consumption behavior. Therefore, integrated educational interventions and nutrition programs that address cognitive, affective, and social aspects are essential to enhance adherence to iron supplementation and reduce anemia prevalence among adolescent girls.
