Hybrid Control of Bidirectional DC-DC Power Source of Electric Vehicles With Dynamical Brake

This paper investigates a simple bidirectional switching DC-DC converter for power sources of hybrid electrical vehicles in both directions. Being bidirectional enables the converter to transfer the power from the load side to the primary of sources in case it is necessary. The key control challenge is to propose a control system to develop switching rules concerning the conditions of four subsystems. This paper aims to determine the suitable switching times of power switches based on the control theory. The switched-mode control has been utilized to overcome the selection of suitable subsystems under the stability of Lyapunov methodology through some Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). As the main contribution, in spite of related works the case study has more than two subsystems. In addition to stabilizing the DC link voltage, the regenerative voltage of the regenerative braking has been addressed to feed charging the batteries.
