Intersampling Model Predictive Control Scheme for Grid-Forming in an Isolated Microgrid
This paper presents a novel implementation and analysis of a Model Predictive Control scheme for a GridForming (GFM) system in an isolated microgrid, which includes photovoltaic generation and a battery energy storage system (BESS). The motivation lies in the increasing demand for sustainable and autonomous energy solutions, especially in rural regions without access to the grid. The proposed control presents an intersampling Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPC), increasing the output levels of the inverter and reducing the output harmonics. The simulation results highlight the robustness of the proposed control, demonstrating good performance in voltage and current tracking.
