Design and speed sensorless adaptive maximum power point tracking control of wind turbine in stand-alone DC nanogrid
A novel hybrid control strategy for sensorless maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and DC bus voltage stabilization in a DC nanogrid wind energy conversion system is proposed in this paper. The necessity for sensors is eliminated using a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)-based Model Reference Adaptive Controller (MRAC), thus enabling precise MPPT to be achieved under varying wind conditions. Moreover, the DC bus voltage is stabilized through the adoption of a PSO-based proportional-integral (PI) controller. The efficacy of the proposed method is demonstrated by MATLAB/Simulink simulations, which show that it improves MPPT accuracy and voltage stability. Hence, this hybrid control approach provides an effective solution for sustainable energy systems by improving reliability and efficiency.
