Averaged Electrothermal Modeling of Buck DC-DC Converter Containing IGBT Module
This paper presents an electrothermal averaged model of a buck DC-DC converter dedicated for SPICE software. This model, in contrast to classical average models, describes both electrical and thermal effects occurring in semiconductor devices and in the inductor. Self-heating in each of the mentioned components and mutual thermal couplings between the IGBT and the diode included in the IGBT module are considered in the model. The form of the elaborated model is presented and some results of its experimental verification are shown and discussed. Good accuracy of the proposed model was obtained in wide range of operating conditions of the tested DCDC converter.
