Propulsion-Levitation-Guidance Coupling Model and Dynamics Investigation of Permanent Magnet Null-Flux Electrodynamic Suspension

The complete permanent magnet null-flux electrodynamic suspension system (PMEDS) comprises the levitation-guidance (LG) and the propulsion subsystem, both of which are of great significance for the research on integrated system coupling mechanisms. Existing studies often separate subsystems for analysis, neglecting coupling relationships in the electromagnetic and dynamic aspects. As a solution, this work develops a propulsion-suspension-guidance coupling analytical model to investigate the coupled electromagnetic and dynamic characteristics of the system. In this paper, the same technical approach was adopted to achieve electromagnetic coupling in the LG system and the propulsion system. Afterward, an electromagnetic-dynamics computational model was developed through Matlab/Simulink software by integrating the dynamics equations. Finally, the analysis of electromagnetic and dynamic characteristics revealed the distinct influences of the propulsion system on the coupled system across various operating conditions, validating the need of establishing the coupled system.
