Adaptive Active Stabilization Control of Compression Systems via Disturbance Observation and Compensation

This paper addresses the active stabilization control problem of compression systems with rotating stall and surge phenomena. To this end, we first implement the Galerkin method to propose a perturbated Moore-Greitzer model for compression systems. Both the modeling error and the external disturbances are considered. Next, an adaptive active control strategy is established to guarantee the system stability. In particular, a disturbance observer is designed to estimate the unknown but bounded disturbances, and then three observer-based controllers are designed. With the proposed control strategy, we prove the input-to-state stability of compression systems under rotating stall and surge. Finally, the hardware-in-the-loop experiments are performed to illustrate the proposed control strategy.
