CURRENT STATE AND PROSPECTS OF USING NANOMATERIALS IN DENTISTRY

Every day, the requirements for biocompatibility, efficiency and durability of the material are becoming increasingly high. This leads to an urgent need to look for alternative ways to improve the quality of biomaterial. This article describes the basic information about nanotechnology and nanomaterials, which in the future can replace other more common and widely known materials. Nanotechnology is an incredibly science-intensive field, because it involves interaction with particles at the level of one atom. Therefore, without combining the methods of biology, chemistry, physics, and the basics of engineering, the existence and development of nanotechnology is impossible. The requirement for such a systematic approach distinguishes nanotechnology from other narrower sciences, which makes nanoscience the future of not only medicine, but also everything that is at least slightly in contact with materials science. The purpose of this study is to analyze modern scientific literature characterizing the creation and implementation of innovative nanomaterials and the development of nanotechnology aimed at improving dental care. The authors reviewed modern classification approaches to both various areas of nanotechnology and groups of dental materials with the inclusion of nanoparticles that provide a set of consumer characteristics. The analysis of scientific literature, conducted using databases (PubMed, Web Of Science, Scopus, ScienceDirect, CyberLeninka (cyberleninka), elibrary, dissercat, Google academy - googleschoolar), demonstrates broad prospects for the use of nanotechnology and nanomaterials in modern dental practice, including clinical, orthopedic dentistry, as well as the development and use of preventive dental materials and personal hygiene.
