HUBUNGAN KADAR HBA1C DAN KOLESTEROL DENGAN DERAJAT STENOSIS PADA PASIEN CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE DI RUMAH SAKIT JANTUNG BINAWALUYA

Abstract: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death in the world, in 2019 it is estimated that 17.9 million people died due to CVDs. One type of this disease is CAD (coronary artery disease). Diabetes and dyslipidemia are one of the risk factors of CAD. The aim of the study was to identify the relationship between HbA1c levels and cholesterol levels and the degree of stenosis in CAD patients at the Binawaluya Heart Hospital. Descriptive correlation research method with a cross sectional design. It was found that the target population was 250 and the sample used a purposive sampling technique with a sample of 84 respondents. The univariate and bivariate analysis used the Chi-Square test with α=5%. The results of the study showed that 26 respondents (68.4%) were categorized as having diabetic HbA1c levels with severe stenosis. And as many as 41 respondents (64.1%) were categorized as having abnormal LDL levels with severe stenosis. The results of the Chi-Square test on the relationship between HbA1c and the degree of stenosis in CAD patients resulted in a Pvalue (Asymp.Sig.) of 0.04 (p<5%), so the hypothesis H0 was rejected. The results of data calculations on the relationship between LDL and the degree of stenosis in CAD patients show a Pvalue (Asymp.Sig.) of 0.004 (p<5%), so the hypothesis H0 is rejected. Conclusion: There is a relationship between HbA1c and cholesterol levels and the degree of stenosis in CAD patients. Education is needed to control risk factors in CAD patients, especially LDL and Hba1c levels, in order to worsen the degree of stenosis Keywords: CAD, Cholesterol, degree of stenosis, HbA1c, LDL
