Effectiveness of use of succulent feed preserved with microbiovit Yenisei in fattening steers

In order to preserve the nutrients and energy value of cereal-legume mixtures of forage crops they are preserved to obtain succulent feed (silage and haylage), which is the basis of a complete ration for cattle. The use of biological preservatives helps prevent the occurrence of residual effects in the body of animals in the form of preservatives and toxic residues from their decay. The purpose of the work was to increase the productivity of fattening steers by including succulent feed preserved with microbiovit Yenisei in the rations. The effect of the biological preservative on the intensity of microbiological processes and the preservation of nutrients during the preservation process on the chemical composition and nutritional value of finished feed was studied. A method was proposed for increasing meat productivity, beef quality indicators, and the economic efficiency of beef production when using feed prepared with microbiovit Yenisei in the rations of fattening steers. In order to improve the quality of silage it is recommended to use microbiovit Yenisei as a preservative in a dilution dose of 1:100 at the rate of 2 liters of working solution per ton of herbal mass when preparing hard-to-ensile high-protein succulent feed grown by mono- or binary crops. In order to improve the fattening of steers of Black-and-White breed it is advisable to use in the composition of rations silage from herbal mass of a mixture of sweet sorghum Galia (85 %) with forage beans Sibirskie (15 %) preserved with microbiovit Yenisei.
