Influence of the biologically active additive Baikal EM-2 on the state of the organs of esophagus and gastric section of quails

Feeding plays a significant role in achieving maximum productivity of poultry in particular the introduction of feed additives into the diet. An important factor is monitoring the functional state of the digestive organs when introducing these additives into the diet. The purpose of the research was to study the eff ect of the biologically active additive Baikal EM-2 on the morphometric parameters of the crop, glandular and muscular stomachs. In addition to the main diet (control group) the biologically active additive Baikal EM-2 was introduced into the drinking system of Manzhurian quails from the age of four days at a concentration of 0.25 % (the 1st experimental group), 0.50 % (the 2nd experimental roup), 0.75 % (the 3rd experimental group) and 1.00 % (the 4th experimental group) in the amount of 3 ml/head. Changes in the goiter wall aff ected the epithelium only in the 1st experimental group. It increased, which was associated with the irritating effect of the feed, but in our case with an increase in the concentration of the additive the epithelial reaction disappeared. A positive effect of the test additive on the development of muscle elements was observed. In the glandular section of the stomach of quails of all experimental groups, there was a decrease in the thickness of the organ wall and all its membranes. Reliable changes were noted in each group for the muscular membrane, i.e. the eff ect in this chamber of the stomach was the opposite compared to the goiter. In the muscular section of the stomach when feeding the biologically active additive Baikal EM-2 in high concentrations an increase in the cuticle layer and muscular membrane was noted, which allowed the birds of these groups to better perform mechanical processing of feed. The data obtained by us in the study of the intestine show the eff ectiveness of the drug on the intestine, which together explains the high animal science results when feeding the biologically active additive Baikal EM-2. Assessing the eff ect of the drug on the organs of the esophageal and gastric section, it can be said that it had a positive eff ect on the wall of the goiter and the muscular section of the stomach, which consisted of stimulating the development of muscle elements and motor function, which improved the mechanical processing of feed by quails in the experimental groups.
