Middle Eastern Strategies and Responses to US and China

The article takes China and the United States as competing magnets and examines the energy security competition by focusing on strategic maneuvers of Middle Eastern nations. It shows how oil and natural gas resources are both an economic pillar and a diplomatic leverage used by these countries to balance external pressures and protect their national interests by analyzing how energy is used as a tool. It discusses the use of energy resources to create international alliances, integration of infrastructure initiatives, like China’s Belt and Road, and how military and economic partnerships are essential. The qualitative analysis is then complemented with quantitative data drawn from international energy agencies that reinforce the conclusion that the management of energy assets for any regional stability or geopolitical purpose must remain effective.
