Generalizing Ayón-Beato–García black hole solutions to higher dimensions

In this paper, we extend the Ayón-Beato–García (ABG) black hole solution to arbitrary higher dimensions. The generalized solution is parameterized by two parameters, s and x. For each dimensional setting, there exists a critical value, [Formula: see text], corresponding to an extremal regular black hole with degenerate horizons. When [Formula: see text], the solution describes a nonextremal black hole possessing two distinct horizons. Importantly, the Kretschmann-scalar K remains finite and regular ([Formula: see text]) across all dimensions. In the weak-field limit ([Formula: see text]), the solution asymptotically approaches the well-known Reissner–Nordström–Tangherlini solution. We derive exact expressions for key thermodynamic quantities, including temperature T, specific heat C and entropy S. Notably, the heat capacity diverges at a critical horizon radius [Formula: see text], where the temperature reaches a maximum, indicating the potential for a Hawking–Page phase transition. This D-dimensional regular black hole solution predicts the formation of a thermodynamically stable remnant at the end of evaporation, highlighting the role of higher dimensions in black hole stability and thermodynamics. We also investigate the shadow of such a black hole by adjusting the value [Formula: see text] and its dimension D.
