Coronary Stent Loss Retrieval Using Pulmonary Biopsy Forceps via Transradial Approach—A Case Series
Stent loss (or dislodgment) during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is a rare yet potentially life-threatening complication, with a reported incidence of 1.3%. Stent retrieval via transradial approach is inherently different and more challenging compared to transfemoral approach as the former has smaller caliber and greater tortuousity. This case series describes four cases of coronary stent loss retrieval via the radial artery sheath using the pulmonary biopsy forceps (thus named the Radial Artery Forceps Retrieval or RAFR technique) during PCI.
