Art Therapy Integrating Solution-Focused Brief Therapy for Cumulative Trauma: A Counseling Case of Severe Depression and Breakup Crisis in a College Student
This study reports a case of a severe depression client experiencing a profound emotional crisis triggered by the superimposition of factors including left-behind childhood experiences, an introverted and sensitive personality, and breakup. Centering on client-centered therapy, the counselor integrated art therapy and solution-focused brief therapy, conducting interventions over three stages spanning 24 sessions. The process facilitated a shift from “low self-energy” to “structured action”, achieving the counseling goals of self-identity reconstruction and psychological resilience enhancement.
