A Radar Multipath Signal Parameter Estimation Method in Closed Environments Using Sparsity With Real‐Imaginary Component Characteristics

ABSTRACT Radar sensors in closed environments suffer significant performance degradation due to multipath effects. These multipath signals generate ghost targets, severely compromising the stability of radar systems. In this paper, we propose a radar multipath signal parameter estimation method in closed environments using sparsity with real‐imaginary component characteristics based multipath identify. This method leverages the delay‐domain sparsity of multipath signals and takes into account the real and imaginary components of the radar echo after the inner product with the overcomplete dictionary. It addresses the issues of inaccurate multipath signal parameter estimation, high algorithm complexity, and weak convergence in the multipath signal parameter estimation method using compressed sensing (CS). Simulation results confirm that, compared to the CS algorithm, the proposed algorithm offers higher parameter estimation accuracy and robustness.
