SOME RESULTS OF THE TURKISH-JAPANESE COOPERATION (ON THE OCCASION OF THE 100-ANNIVERSARY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS)
The article examines the main areas of cooperation between Turkey and Japan, among which trade and economic cooperation and security issues occupy a special place. From the first contacts, relations between the Japanese and the Ottoman Empire received an impetus for cooperation in the face of natural disasters. Historical examples of interaction have become fertile ground for building a constructive dialogue at the present stage. Attention is paid to the conceptual and historical aspects that determine the basis of Turkish-Japanese contacts at the present time. It is noted that despite Ankara's proclamation of the special regional initiative "Asia anew", which, among other things, implies the intensification of relations with Tokyo, the bilateral dialogue still needs additional impulses, for which both countries have the necessary political will. Japan's participation in the modernization of the Turkish transport infrastructure is of particular importance for interstate relations.
