Impact of historical and social factors on deviant and delinquent behavior among socially deprived adolescents

In all historical times, the state of mental health has been and remains one of the criteria for social and psychological stability, both of an individual and of society as a whole. Purpose of the article. Based on the conducted studies of 130 adolescents with social and maternal deprivation (SMD), family (SD) and social and psychological (SPD), the social factor was investigated, namely: family status (complete, incomplete family or its absence, education, economic security, lifestyle), customs and influence of the immediate environment (family, friends, company, etc.), as a result of insufficient satisfaction of basic mental needs (for a long time and to a fairly serious extent) in adolescents. The novelty of the study is that the social factor of SMD, SD, SPD was first studied in stressful socio-political conditions, when the adolescent period of socialization leads to a lack of emotional warmth in parent-child, adolescent-adolescent, adolescent-society relationships. The practical value and source base of the work lies in creating an experimental basis on which the study of deviant and delinquent behavior of adolescents is formed. The historical and social factor of changing the behavior of socially deprived adolescents during a period of socially unfavorable context (such as a pandemic, financial crisis, military conflicts, etc.) is studied. The article is based on the materials of the practical part of the dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences. Conclusion. Considering that there are no generally recognized epidemiological data on the prevalence of mental and behavioral disorders due to deprivation with disorders of social functioning (ICD-10. F 94) in children of different ages in Ukraine, the factors that influenced the formation of delinquent and deviant behavior among the younger generation of Ukrainians were investigated. All this has determined the relevance and prospects of research that has been conducted in the historical dimension, as well as at the present stage, aimed at clarifying etiological factors and risk factors (which have a tendency to the emergence of new factors). The growing prevalence of mental deprivation, its analysis and control over the phenomenon among the rising generation of Ukrainian adolescents, will help to improve the health care system for children and adolescents, which is timely.

Abstract

In all historical times, the state of mental health has been and remains one of the criteria for social and psychological stability, both of an individual and of society as a whole.
