Abstract 2644 Molecular Docking of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Peptide Mutations with Retinoblastoma Protein
Cervical cancer, caused by high-risk Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infections, is a leading health issue among women worldwide, claiming over 300,000 lives annually despite being preventable through early detection and vaccination. Computational methods allow for prompt and cost-effective screening of potential drug candidates to inhibit high-risk HPV strains, such as HPV-16 and HPV-18. Targeting HPV E6 and E7 oncoproteins, with high affinity to retinoblastoma protein (pRb), is critical for cancer prevention, as they disrupt key tumor suppressor pathways, enabling unchecked cell proliferation and the development of malignancies.
