Abstract 1657 Hemp Seed Supplementation on Colitis in Mice: Impacts on Macrophage Polarization and Inflammatory Response

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), encompassing ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, poses significant healthcare challenges due to its rising prevalence and the limitations of current treatments, which can have substantial side effects and are not always suitable for long-term use. The anti-inflammatory properties of dietary supplements, particularly hemp seed-rich in essential fatty acids, proteins, and bioactive compounds-have garnered increasing interest for their potential benefits. This study investigates the efficacy of hemp seed supplementation in ameliorating colitis in a dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis mouse model.
