Abstract 2679 Mentoring for Impact: Empowering Biochemistry Undergraduates and Building Futures
In today's increasingly diverse educational environment, effective mentoring programs extend far beyond traditional academic guidance. Mentoring has proven to be a transformative force in enhancing retention, diversity, and inclusion within STEM fields. By supporting underrepresented and first-generation students, they diversify the life sciences and prepare students for successful careers. The Career Mentoring Initiatives implemented by the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine exemplify this transformative approach.
