Abstract 1071 Soil Microbiomes and Transciptomes from East Iceland Microclimes
Climate change is causing warming across the globe, which is exacerbated in the Arctic and subarctic, including Iceland. The soil microbiome plays an important role in nutrient cycling and soil health. The microbiome's composition and activity is affected by soil conditions such as temperature and plant cover. Skálanes Nature and Heritage Center is located at the tip of Seyðisfjörður with dramatic elevation changes and limited vegetation, large swaths of which are dominated by the invasive Lupinus nootkatensis (Nootka lupine).
