Abstract 2459 PADA-MS: Proteolytic Amyloid Digestion Assay with Mass Spectrometry for Characterizing Fibril Morphologies in Neurodegenerative Diseases
Neurodegenerative disorders, including Parkinson's Disease (PD), Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), Alzheimer's Disease (AD), and Lewy Body Dementia (LBD), are associated with distinct α-synuclein (αS) fibril morphologies (FMs). These unique conformations differ not only in structure but also in seeding capacity and pathogenic potential. Emerging evidence suggests that FMs generated in vitro may not fully recapitulate those found in patient samples, underscoring the need for reliable and efficient methods to characterize these assemblies.
