Abstract 2637 Rewiring neural circuits through exercise: MALDI imaging exposes metabolic shifts that change AD tau pathology in PS19 mice
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by tau aggregation, synaptic dysfunction, and cognitive decline. While traditional therapeutic efforts often focus on pharmacological interventions, emerging evidence suggests that exercise may also provide protective effects against AD-related pathology. Exercise has a low logistical and financial bar to entry compared to traditional AD treatments, so investigating biochemical mechanisms behind exercise induced changes in AD mouse models could provide insight into these fundamental neurological processes.
