Abstract 2532 Optimization of Influenza A viral protein expression from in vitro transcribed mRNAs delivered by Lipid Nanoparticles into human cells
Influenza viruses lead to 3-5 million severe infections and 290,000-650,000 deaths annually. Current influenza vaccines primarily induce short-lived, strain-specific antibody responses with limited ability to stimulate long-term, cross-protective T cell responses. The goal of next-generation influenza vaccines is to induce long-term, cross-protective T cell responses by targeting conserved epitopes shared across influenza viruses. T cell activation relies on antigen presentation by dendritic cells (DCs), found distributed throughout the body.
