Abstract 1946 Bilobalide Alleviates Sarcopenic Obesity by Enhancing Autophagy and Non-Shivering Thermogenesis in Aged C57BL/6 Mice
Sarcopenic obesity, the combination of increased body fat and decreased muscle mass, is a growing health concern in aging populations. Bilobalide (BB), derived from Ginkgo biloba leaves, is a natural sesquiterpene trilactone known for its diverse pharmacological effects. We hypothesized bilobalide could improve sarcopenic obesity in aged C57BL/6 mice. Fourteen-month-old male mice were randomly assigned into five groups: 1) ND (normal diet), 2) CTL (45% high-fat diet, negative control), 3-5) BB10, BB20, and BB40 (45% high-fat diet with 10, 20, and 40 mg/kg bw BB, respectively).
