Abstract 1675 Auxin-inducible degradation as a tool for antifungal target discovery
Systemic fungal diseases are on the rise, accounting for a staggering 6.5 million invasive infections and an estimated 3.8 million deaths each year. This global health concern was highlighted in 2022 by the World Health Organization's fungal priority pathogens list which listed Candida albicans and emerging pathogen Candida auris as critical priority pathogens. Several Candida species, including C. auris, are developing resistance to the few available antifungal drugs, further reducing their efficacy.
