Abstract 1908 Folate sustains CD8 T+ function through impaired N-glycosylation
Folate, an essential vitamin, is the required one-carbon acceptor and donor in one-carbon metabolism (1CM) reactions. Despite folate's critical role in cancer cell proliferation, little is known about the status of folate in the nutritionally-deprived tumor microenvironment (TME) and the impact of folate deprivation on anti-tumor CD8+ T cell function. In our work, we demonstrate that folate is deprived in the TME of B16 OVA and MC38 OVA mouse tumor models. We show that folate deprivation impaired CD8+ T cell activation, cytotoxicity, and cytokine secretion.
