Abstract 2138 Regulation of olaparib resistance in ovarian cancer using serotonin receptor modulators
Introduction: Ovarian cancer (OvCa) is the most lethal gynecologic cancer with a poor prognosis attributed to high rate of development of resistance to current therapies. Olaparib, a PARP inhibitor, is an approved maintenance therapy following first-line treatment in OvCa. While initially effective in delaying recurrence, most patients will still develop resistance to olaparib. New therapeutic approaches to prevent chemoresistance that focus on nonredundant signaling mechanisms are needed to improve patient outcomes.
