Abstract 2579 Investigating the Lipid-Dependent Regulation and Therapeutic Targeting of Plasma Membrane and Extracellular HSPA1A
Heat shock protein A1A (HSPA1A) plays essential roles in cellular stress response and cancer cell survival, localizing to the plasma membrane (PM) in heat-shocked and cancer cells. This translocation is mediated by specific lipids, including phosphatidylserine (PS) and phosphatidylinositol phosphates (PIPs), which are known to guide HSPA1A to the PM. HSPA1A also exists in an extracellular form, raising questions about the connection between membrane-bound (mHSPA1A) and extracellular HSPA1A (eHSPA1A) and their roles in cancer progression and immune modulation.
